DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – The eagerly awaited India-Tanzania Friendship Cup returned in triumph this Saturday, bringing together golf enthusiasts and the community to celebrate the sport. The powerful event was held at the Gymkhana Golf Course in Dar es Salaam.
Under the patronage of the Indian High Commission in Tanzania, the India-Tanzania Friendship Cup has established itself as a major event in the world of golf. This year, the tournament promised even more excitement, with a wide range of skilled golfers participating.
“We are delighted to bring back the India-Tanzania Friendship Cup for another year of friendship, competition, and social engagement,” said Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, the Indian High Commissioner to Tanzania. “Our talented team has worked tirelessly to put together a tournament that will appeal to both visitors and participants.” He also highlighted the significant support provided by Kamal Steel as the tournament’s partner and Tanzanite Automark (TOYOTA) as the event’s sponsor.

- High-Quality Competition: The golf tournament was divided into four carefully curated divisions, taking into account different skill levels. This ensured that both young and experienced golfers were able to showcase their skills.
- Professionally Led Training and Workshops: In line with its commitment to developing the sport, the India-Tanzania Friendship Cup also hosted awareness workshops and clinics led by experienced golf professional Nazeer Tajudeen, who has been ranked in the top 50 by the World Golf Teachers Federation. Participants had the opportunity to learn from experts in the field.
- Community Development: The India-Tanzania Friendship Cup remains committed to its social responsibility. Through proceeds from the inaugural event in 2022, Tsh 5 million was donated to a youth team to compete in the African Junior Championships in Uganda.
